My
name is Jim Furness. I love the medium of black and
white photography, and for some years have been
concentrating on the nude in nature. This desire
to look at the nude figure within the context of nature
is driven partly by my Chrisitan faith ( surely the
human body is God's most beautiful creation ), and
partly by my experience as a naturist ( we should be
free to walk naked in our own land, as God intended ).
Also I am inspired by some of the great German
photographers of the 1920's who expressed these ideas so
well. I work solely in black and white, using medium
format equipment, and do not use filters or other
special effects. Some of my best shots have been taken
on an old Zeiss Ikonta. I like to work not only with
professional models, but also with people who have no
modeling experience. For many of these people posing in
the nude for me, and seeing the results has been a very
upbuilding experience, I hope you enjoy my work !
